15 Pounds

Now that we are for sure waiting to do another fertility treatment until I graduate from nursing school at the end of March I have decided that I need to get a little weight off! I have put on 30 pounds over the last 2 years so I decided to try to lose at least 15 pounds by the end of March so that I can be in a little better shape before getting pregnant. I am going to start on January first and have no real sense of direction. My husband has committed to working out with me twice a week and a few friends said they would join in some way but I don't know what that entails. I have NEVER tried to lose weight but am looking forward to seeing results. :o)

Wow ...

My husband went to the gym all by himself yesterday. I am very impressed. I guess this mean I have to go tomorrow with him, lol. I am excited for our "healthy lifestyle change". :o)

Priorities ...

My husband said he wants to make being healthy a priority. It is the first time in our 6 years of marriage he has said such a statement followed by ... so I want us to commit to going to the gym at least twice a week. We are going to use Christmas money to pay for a year membership. I am very excited! We will see how it goes. :o)

1 mile at a time ...

I am so proud, last Wednesday my husband and I went to Bally's and actually worked out. I only ran a mile but I at least got out of the house and did some sort of physical activity! Baby steps!

Well ...

Not doing very well in anyway really ... I am eating like a poor college student and doing little to no activity of any kind. At least I am reading my bible more often than not! Ugh!

Fitness

Fitness is a lifestyle and VERY hard for me to "fit in" to my every crazy and chaotic life.

Terrible!

Last week at work I had the terrible thing that every women hopes & prays will never happen to her in her lifetime.

I had a patients family member (probably in her 60's) ask me as serious as could be, "When is the baby due?" I quickly denied being remotely pregnant to which she replied, "Oh, must be that time of the month then." I could have died.

When I left the room I told the other tech. in the room with me "I guess I will be going to the gym tomorrow!" I shrugged it off that day but it bothered me the next time I thought about it, especially since I have yet to ever be pregnant. LAME!

Bathing suit

Bathing suit ... aka ... evil embarrassment outfit.

I am no longer in denial about weighing 30lbs more than I ever have. This year I am completely dreading & terrified of the upcoming bathing suit season. I am going on a 4-day cruise in September and my body is sooooo not ready to be displayed in public. I have not truly experienced summer with the discomfort of having no waist, and a large bum covered with cellulite but nursing school has generously provided the means for me to experience such a nightmare! Ha, ha! UGH! I have a lot of work ahead of me ... step one ... get off the couch and go to a gym. LOL.

Time ... where is the time???

OK, I have nursing school classes, studying, Reserves, work, volunteer hours, house cleaning & wife duties to attend to ... WHEN exactly am I supposed to fit in workout time? The days I could probably squeeze it in I am too exhausted to go. I have basically done nothing. I still haven't signed up for the YMCA and I am so not dieting. I did replace my usual junk food with the "100 calorie" alternative. UGH!

Inside

Also, I started reading my bible again to help with my overall concept of health ... can't forget to feed the soul right?!! I will eventually finish my one year bible ... lol about 2 1/2 to 3 years later! It's a journey ... :o)

Hum ...

Well, I went to sign-up for Weight Watcher, TWICE and they were closed both times. The first time I didn't know that they are only open a 1/2 hour before each meeting, the second time I just read the times wrong. I don't think I am ready for that step yet, I am going to check out the Balley's & YMCA near my school to price them & just START exercising!

Healthy

Well, since our fertility treatments have been put on hold for the next 5 months I figured, I should take advantage of this opportunity and become healthier! I have NEVER tried to diet and have rarely exercised. Now that I am 20lbs heavier than last year (15lbs of which was put on in the 1st quarter of nursing school) and 30lbs heavier than I was just 3 short years ago, I decided it was time to do something about it. I am a bit scared and intimidated by the whole dieting thing, I often forget to feed myself during the day, it is the night time eating that has gotten me in a lot of trouble, that and I drink WAY more coffee then I used to. (I like the sweet girly drinks too, not good.) I figure I need something else to focus on over the summer break so my health is a good place to put a bit of much needed attention toward. I will let you know how it goes. :o)
